Club Information

The Friary Judo Club has been running for about 5 years and offers Judo for both Juniors (ages 6 upwards) and seniors (ages 16 upwards).  The club has a friendly atmosphere and caters for Judo at all levels.  Please feel free to come and visit / watch and join in.

Senior Session

Beginners wishing to try Judo can join in at any time, we have some Judo suits that we can lend our for those interested in starting or just wanting to see if they wish to start up Judo properly.

The Friary Judo Coaches are:

Matthew Harte, a third Dan black belt with over 25 years Judo experience from both a competitive level as well as over 18 years coaching experience.

Justin Boxall, a second Dan black belt, again with over 20 years Judo experience and a huge font of technical knowledge including a vast knowledge of kata.

The Club has won two "Awards for All" National Lottery grants in getting the club up and running and building up a senior section enabling the club to offer Judo for all levels and all ages.

The Friary Judo Club is affiliated to the British Judo Association, the UK's governing body of Judo that represents British Judo in the International Judo Federation.
